The theatre of the Music School of Thessaloniki was completely reconstructed in 2006 and is now a modern event hall with a capacity of about 400 people. It consists of the stage, the backstage, two dressing rooms, a small foyer, the square, the control room with sound and light console and logistical equipment suitable for the needs of the venue. It has the capacity to support a wide range of events such as simple speeches, conferences, congresses, concerts, music and dance performances and theatre performances. To date, a number of performances have taken place, both by the school and by other organizations that have been hosted there.
Operation
Teachers in charge of the theatre: the teachers in charge of the school of the theatre do not perform the duties of a sound engineer, and work in the theatre during school hours. They have the following responsibilities as defined with the authorization of the management, (19/9/2012):
- The theatre area consists of the backstage, the stage, the seats, and the control room. The managers shall inventory the existing material each school year and inform the principal of the acquisition of new material, as well as damage.
- They keep a theatre use log and a control log.
- They are responsible for all matters concerning the use of the theatre, and jointly strive for the proper operation of the theatre..
Terms of use
1. In order to use the theatre, there must be a stage manager and a control manager who will be present in the theatre during the entire period of use.
2. The space shall be taken over by the theatre manager and handed over to him/her at the end of the designated use indicated by the applicants in the digital calendar.
3. The space shall be delivered in perfect condition and received in the same.
4. The materials used (microphones, stands, extension cables, etc.) are recorded by the users of the space on the application form.

For the smooth operation of the theatre, the teachers/teachers responsible for the school’s official holiday-events are requested to indicate the technical-technical equipment on the relevant mail at least one week before the general rehearsal and not at the last minute. During the general rehearsal the sound team requires 15 minutes sound check without the presence of people involved and 15 minutes before the end of the timetable for restoration of the venue.
