The Cloakroom of the Thessaloniki Music School was organized during the school year 2011-2012 by a group of teachers of the school who volunteered their help such as Katsaounis Theodoros, Moschogiannis Stergios, Mavrou Irini, Karpida Eleni, Papakonomou Stefania, Tsoka Panagiota and Svoronou Loukia. It serves the needs of the school and has a fully updated archive. It accepts donations of theatrical costumes and items from students, teachers, parents or third parties. We are very grateful to Nicholas Nicolaides, President of the M.S.Th. Alumni Association for donating a wall mirror.
Teachers in charge of the lab are Karpida Eleni and Svoronou Loukia.
In 2016, the retired colleague Mrs. Sofia Pavlidou-Patra gave free of charge to the Cloakroom of M.S.Th. a number of clothes, constructions, props, accessories, etc. in order to be used in performances. For this reason, the cloakroom was renamed the ‘S. Pavlidou-Patra’ cloakroom.
Sofia Pavlidou-Patra studied piano and Advanced Theory at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki. She studied under “wonderful teachers in music and theatre”, as she says. Among them was her teacher-husband Mr. K. Patra, who passed on his passion for art to her. She used theatre and music, these two Arts, as a means for her students to get to know themselves and become a little better people.
She worked many hours in addition to her compulsory hours at the public school, especially at the 2nd and 4th High School of Ampelokipon. The greatest reward a teacher can get from the souls of the students was the fulfillment of her personality. She taught and was taught through these two Arts and today, having completed her tenure as a teacher, she continues to teach through other avenues now beloved.
