The Centre for Byzantine Research of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in collaboration with the Music School of Thessaloniki, will present a special Christmas concert on Saturday, 13 December 2025, at 19:00, at the preserved building of the former “Melissa” Orphanage (36 Vasilissis Olgas Street), a neoclassical and Renaissance-style building that has housed the Centre for Byzantine Research since 1988.
The music ensembles of the classes of Gesthimani Pavlidou (flute), Domna Sidiropoulou (piano), and Vasileios Chados (tambouras) will fill the hall with beloved traditional and Christmas melodies accompanied by vocals, creating a warm and highly festive atmosphere.
The impressive repertoire, rich in distinctive melodies, includes classical works, Christmas songs, and traditional carols performed by the talented students of the Music School of Thessaloniki, conveying a message of love and joy that aims, through music, to carry the audience on a festive Christmas journey.
