The international Informatics and Computational Thinking competition Kastoras – Bebras® (Bebras International Challenge on Informatics and Computational Thinking) was successfully completed, taking place for the fourth time in Greece during the period 10–28 November 2025.
The competition was organized for the second consecutive year by the Athena Research Center and the Innovation Unit for Women, with the support of the Institute of Educational Policy (IEP), the Archimedes Unit, and OpenAIRE, under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation and the Ministry of Digital Governance.
A total of 34,706 students, from 899 schools across Greece and Greek-speaking schools abroad, participated in the competition. Students were required to solve 10 problems or multiple-choice questions within 45 minutes, and 282 students achieved a perfect score. Among the participants were thirty-four (34) students from the Music School of Thessaloniki: fifteen (15) from the 1st and 2nd grades of Lower Secondary School (Gymnasium), thirteen (13) from the 3rd grade of Gymnasium and the 1st grade of Upper Secondary School (Lyceum), and six (6) from the 2nd and 3rd grades of Lyceum.
In the first category, student Danae Georgiadi (2nd grade of Gymnasium) achieved 1st place nationwide, while three students ranked among the top 800, and thirteen students scored above the national average.
In the second category, student Emmanouil Petridis achieved 5th place nationwide, while three students ranked among the top 700, and five students scored above the national average.
In the third category, six students of the Music School of Thessaloniki ranked among the top 400 nationwide, while six students scored above the national average.
