Distinction for students of the M.S.Th. at the 11th ACSTAC Anatolia College Science and Technology Annual Conference

4 May 2025

On Saturday, May 3, 2025 students of the 2nd and 3rd grade of Gymnasium, as well as the 2nd grade of Lyceum of Thessaloniki Music School (M.S.Th.), successfully participated in the 11th ACSTAC Anatolia College Science and Technology Annual Conference, aiming to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STE(A)M). Students were asked to choose a topic that interests them and explore it in depth, with the goal of connecting it to their daily lives and their community.

With this question as a stimulus in the context of the Computer Science course, the students of the Music School of Thessaloniki implemented – in collaboration with students of Anatolia College – an original project entitled “Robotic Orchestra”. They presented it at the conference to a number of visitors, students from other schools, teachers, parents and/or guardians and of course to the judges of the conference, representing our school and highlighting its multidimensional character.

The implementation of the prototype project was based on the use of tools such as Arduino and Micro:bit, with different technological approaches and designs. The “Robotic Orchestra” is an example of linking technology with the arts – and music in particular – enhancing both the musical literacy and artistic expression of students, as well as the cultivation of algorithmic creativity, collaboration and innovation. The “Robot Orchestra” won the STEAM Award, a distinction that is recognition of its innovation and interdisciplinary value.

The Music School of Thessaloniki Administration and the Teaching Staff congratulate the students of the team.
