Congratulatory announcement for distinction of a student of the Music School of Thessaloniki in the “Listening to the Youth 2025” competition

9 May 2025

We were very pleased to hear that the student Chrysanthos Therianos of Music School of Thessaloniki B’ Lyceum (Evangelia Mitsopoulou class) will perform as a solo pianist with the Athens State Orchestra in September 2025, following his distinction in the “Listening to the Youth 2025” (Akoume tous neous 2025) competition.

The innovative “Listening to the Youth” programme, the result of the synergy between the Kalogeropouleio Foundation of Corinth, the DIAZOMA association, the Athens Concert Hall and the Third Programme, is a comprehensive programme to support emerging musicians in the field of classical music through concerts, recordings and festivals. The aim of the programme is to give outstanding Young Artists the opportunity to present and develop their work through multiple concerts and recordings, as well as to make contact with already established musicians, festival organisers and potential sponsors. The competition is open to young seniors and graduates in symphony orchestra and piano instruments up to the age of 25.

The “We hear the youth” programme was first implemented in 2023 with great success, organising 11 concerts and three recordings for the three winners of the competition part. The judges of this year’s competition found that the artistic level of the competition was very high.

The Directorate and teachers’ association of Thessaloniki Music School express our warmest congratulations to our talented student for his remarkable success. We also extend warm wishes to his family and to those who stand by his side and support his persistent and creative path to progress and artistic development.
